Education and Professional Development
Continuing Professional Education
Quality CPE is vital to maintaining a competitive edge. Members enjoy generous discounts on our extensive classroom and online seminar selections. All seminar topics are tailored to the practices of smaller accounting firms, and programs are conveniently located in multiple locations throughout the state. Depend on PSTAP to help increase your professional knowledge and competency in the midst of rapid regulatory changes. PSTAP is an approved program sponsor of continuing professional education credits by the Pennsylvania State Board of Accountancy, the New Jersey State Board of Accountancy, the New York State Board of Accountancy and the Internal Revenue Service. Many credits are also accepted by the Certified Financial Standards Board to satisfy CPE requirements for Certified Financial Planners.
Our Chapter Meetings Bring CPE to You!
When you join the PSTAP you are automatically aligned with one of nine chapters based on your location in the state. PSTAP chapters hold monthly CPE programs at a centralized location. These meetings combine a relaxed dinner hour with 2-4 hours of CPE, and are offered at a very reasonable cost to members. Chapter meetings offer valuable networking opportunities.
Leadership Opportunities
Serving on a committee or assuming other leadership positions within the organization offers rewarding interaction with fellow professionals, the satisfaction of serving others, and an increased understanding of PSTAP’s mission. There’s a PSTAP committee to fit your needs and interests. Volunteer today!
Volunteer Opportunities
From developing a new member service, to working with state and federal agencies, to planning timely CPE at the chapter level, to making contact with you local legislator, your volunteer service on a PSTAP committee or within the local chapter can make a huge difference towards furthering the goals of the Society and your profession.
Your involvement gives you the opportunity to share your talents and expertise, exercise your leadership skills, grow your knowledge base, network and develop professional relationships that will last a lifetime.
PSTAP standing committees are organized around specific objectives to be achieved on behalf of the Society. Regular meetings are held throughout the year, and are structured around the committee’s agenda.
Chapters are always in search of volunteers to help plan and execute quality chapter meetings and seminars. It may look easy, but offering quality chapter programs takes the effort of many volunteers.
Volunteer opportunities are also available for individuals interested in providing CPE at local chapter meetings, submitting articles for the PA Accountant Magazine or serving as a Key Legislative Contact for the PSTAP.
No matter what your interest or time commitment, we have the spot for you. Sign up to volunteer today!
