This is my last monthly newsletter as President of the South Central Chapter. It has been a rewarding and enjoyable two years. I have developed an appreciation of what it takes to be a leader of so many fine individuals within the Chapter and among state-wide members of tax and accounting professionals.
The meeting this month will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 from 5:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the West Shore Country Club in Camp Hill for installation of the Officers, presentation of Scholarships, and comedian entertainment by Earl David Reed. Please come and welcome William Johnson, PA as President, Cynthia Scullion CPA as 1st Vice President, Robyn Bauder as 2nd Vice President, Dale Zeiger, CPA as Secretary, and Tracy Radic, CPA as Treasurer. The South Central Chapter PSTAP represents Certified Public Accountants, Public Accountants, Enrolled Agents, and tax practitioners from Adams, Cumberland, Dauphin, Franklin, Perry, and York counties of south central Pennsylvania. The Chapter was formed in the early 1970s to promote and protect the interests of public accountants within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to cultivate a spirit of professional cooperation among its members.
The South Central Chapter conducts six regular seminar meetings between the months of September and May of each year. All educational seminar topics are designed for the practices of sole practitioners and smaller accounting and or tax firms.
Quality continuing education at reasonable rates and communications with its members on professional and state regulatory issues define the Chapter\'s main focus of activity. Dinner follows the meeting and provides an excellent opportunity for members to network with their peers on related tax and professional issues.
The South Central Chapter, in conjunction with the Central Chapter, presents a series of one and two-day Gear-Up seminars in the areas of accounting, business entities, and personal income tax.
The South Central Chapter has annually sponsored a Legislative breakfast at the Capitol Building in Harrisburg as an opportunity for its membership to meet with legislators and discuss important issues with them. The contacts made at such events have served our Chapter and State Society well over the past several years.
As a member of PSTAP, you are entitled to attend South Central Chapter meetings and Gear-Up seminars at reduced member rates. If another Chapter has a seminar you are interested in you may also attend that Chapter\'s monthly meeting or Gear Up Seminar at the discounted rate.
