Philadelphia BIRT or NPT filings over $5,000 must pay electronically for 2017
Starting with payments due for Tax Year 2017 and later, taxpayers who owe $5,000 or more for the Philadelphia Business Income and Receipts Tax or the Net Profits Tax are required to pay those taxes electronically. Philadelphia Dept of Revenue offers extended hours starting February 1
Beginning February 1 through April 17, the Philadelphia Department of Revenue offers extended Taxpayer Services and Water Revenue Bureau hours at the Municipal Services Building (1401 JFK Blvd).
Philadelphia Department of Revenue tax season hours are:
Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. until 7 p.m.
Saturday 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Coming next year: tax professionals who file more than 10 returns in Philadelphia must file electronically
Starting for Tax Year 2018, the Department will require tax professionals who file 10 or more returns each year to file electronically. The Department several ways to file electronically:
- Philadelphia’s own tax filing and payment platform. File and pay individual returns for most Philadelphia Taxes. Visit www.phila.gov/pay
- Returns on a Disk (ROAD) – This program enables electronic filing of Business Privilege, Net Profits, Annual Wage Reconciliation and School Income Tax returns. You will need to enroll to participate. Get details and enrollment information
