11:00 AM - 11:30 AM (EST)
Online Webinar
Category: Member Huddle

The Philadelphia Transparency Act, enacted in 2024 as Bill No. 240087, mandates that tax preparation service providers provide and disclose their pricing to Philadelphia customers prior to delivering services. This legislation aims to enhance transparency and allow consumers to make informed decisions when selecting tax preparers. 240087 is also intended to combat predatory preparers who charge “exorbitant fees” hidden within claims of “get your refund fast” or “we might be able to qualify you for EITC.”

Learn about the Act’s scope and compliance requirements: who is affected, how to comply and remedies for noncompliance.

Why you should care: While the Philadelphia Transparency Act directly impacts tax preparation services within the city, its emphasis on pricing transparency contributes to a broader discourse on consumer rights and may influence regulatory developments across Pennsylvania.

A template will be discussed.
