WEBINAR: SSARS Update & Review: Practical Considerations

4 Hours A&A

Tuesday, May 20, 2025
12:30 PM - 4:00 PM (EDT)
Online Webinar
Category: A&A - Webinars

This A&A program will not only look at the professional guidance and standards for Preparation, Compilation, and Review engagements (including the professional trends, practical considerations, and methodologies in preparing client financial statements), we will also look at two new SSARS statements that are incredibly impactful: SSARS No. 26, Quality Management for an Engagement Conducted in Accordance With Statements on Standards for Accounting and Review Services, and SSARS No. 27, Applicability of AR-C Section 70 to Financial Statements Prepared as Part of a Consulting Services Engagement.

These new SSARS statements present a juxtaposition regarding responding and complying with peer review and the Code of Professional Conduct. No. 26 mandates that the all-out assessment and establishment of a comprehensive quality management system to identify and assess engagement risks, and to adopt safeguard procedures to mitigate those engagement risk – which must be adopted, customized, and implemented by December 15, 2025. Conversely, No. 27 recognizes the high and significant focus of client advisory services, including out-sourced CFO or controllership services, that would allow financial statement preparations performed as a by-product of these consulting services, to be scoped out of the SSARS guidance of AR-C Section 70, Preparation services

Join us in discussing how a small practitioner/firm can successfully navigate and compete in providing accounting (and review) services to small business clients.
