2 hours Federal Ethics and 2 hours Federal Tax; IRS

Tuesday, June 24, 2025
8:00 AM - 11:30 AM (EDT)

Altoona, Blair County Convention Center

1 Convention Center Drive Altoona, PA 16602 United States
Category: Ethics (Federal) - In Person

Ethics - Circular 230: This program will focus on the regulations governing practice before the IRS, particularly for tax professionals like Enrolled Agents and CPAs. Appropriate sections of Circular 230 will be reviewed.

Schedule C - The Last Tax Shelter in America: This program will review the basic organization of the Schedule C and why it is appropriate for so many small businesses. Additionally, all Single Member LLCs are treated as         unrecognized entities for tax purposes. This removes the one major issue for a Schedule C – unlimited liability.     But, then the issues of “basis” rears it’s ugly head!

Many deductions are overlooked in the use of the Schedule C because many taxpayers are nescient of what they can deduct. We will focus on some of these overlooked deductions. The use of a Schedule C to hire family to lower overall taxes, to increase social security benefits and offer fringe benefits will be examined and discussed.
